Good to know.
Is Sayzen free?
Yes. Dictation needs no account and no key, and on a Mac with Apple Intelligence it’s cleaned up on the Mac for free. Commands and the Assistant useCleanup, Commands and the Assistant use your own API key, and agents their own sign-in; that provider bills what you use.
Why does macOS or Windows stop it the first time?
Sayzen isn’t notarized by Apple or signed with a paid Microsoft certificate yet. On macOS 14, right-click Sayzen in Applications and choose Open. On macOS 15 and later, open it once, choose Done, then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. On Windows, choose More info, then Run anyway. You only do this once. See it step by step.
Does my voice leave my computer?
No. Parakeet or Whisper turns speech into text on this MacPC, meetings included. Text goes to the provider you set up only for Commands, the Assistant, and cleanup or meeting notes when they use it.
Which languages does it understand?
English, with Parakeet. Choose a Multilingual Whisper model in Settings and Sayzen hears most languages, finding the one you speak. The app itself is in English.
Does it record my meetings by itself?
Only when you say so. When a call starts, Sayzen asks: Record, Not now, Always for that app, or Never. The audio is deleted once it’s transcribed, unless you choose to keep it.
Do I need an account?
Only to share notes. Everything else works signed out, and signing out keeps every note.
Do I need Claude Code or Codex?
Only to hand off coding tasks. Install either one and sign in, and Sayzen passes the task along. Everything else works without them.
How do updates work?
Sayzen checks for new versions itself and installs them when you agree, from its public releases on GitHub.
