Annotate

Show a coding agent what to change. Sayzen records your screen while you draw on it and talk, then you send it, copy it, or keep it as a note.

Starting and stopping

  • Press Control-Option-A on a Mac, or Ctrl+Shift+F8 on Windows. You can also choose Annotate the Screen from the menu bar (the tray on Windows).
  • Sayzen records the display under the pointer. The island at the top of the screen says Annotating, with the time.
  • Press the shortcut again, or Stop in the island, to finish. It stops by itself at the longest length: 3 minutes, unless you change it in Settings › Annotate.
  • It doesn’t start while a dictation, question, conversation or meeting recording is under way.

Drawing while you talk

Hold the dictation key (fn on a Mac, Right Ctrl on Windows) and drag to draw. To keep the pen on, press the hands-free dictation key or Pen in the island, and press it again to stop. Lines are drawn in your accent, fade from the screen after a moment, and stay in the recording.

Talk as you go. The Commands keys rest while you annotate. Escape or Discard throws the whole recording away.

Afterwards

What you said is transcribed on your computer. Sayzen picks up to eight frames, where you drew first, then where the screen changed, then where you paused, and draws your lines into them. A sentence or two sums up what you said: written by your AI provider when a key is saved, otherwise by Apple Intelligence on a Mac, otherwise the first words you said.

The island then offers:

  • Send to your default agent. A send card shows the agent, the project, the brief exactly as it will be sent, and every picture; remove any you don’t want. Claude Code and Codex get the frames as pictures. T3 Code gets the words only.
  • Copy: the frames as one picture, and the words.
  • Save as note: a note with the summary and what you said, with the frames under it.
  • Close.

Privacy

Nothing is recorded until you start it. Sayzen’s own windows are left out of the recording. Frames and audio stay in memory, and nothing leaves your computer until you choose Send, Copy or Save as note. Only the words go to a model for the summary. A result you leave waiting is dropped after 15 minutes.

Permission

On a Mac, the first time you annotate asks for Screen Recording, in System Settings › Privacy & Security. If it isn’t allowed, nothing is recorded and the island says where to allow it. Windows asks for nothing; it shows a border around what’s being captured.
