Notes

Notes keeps your own notes, the ones Sayzen takes for you, and your meeting notes in one list. Writing never needs a key, and notes stay on your computer unless you share one.

Writing

Open Notes and choose New note. It works like a Markdown editor: # for a heading, - for a list, [ ] for a checklist. Notes save as you type.

To have Sayzen take one, say it: “take a note: call the bank on Friday”.

Asking about a note

The box at the foot of a note asks Sayzen about it. Type, or choose the microphone to dictate into the box, and press Return to send.

  • Sayzen can answer from the note, edit it, or start work from it, including a coding task for an agent.
  • When Sayzen edits the note, Undo takes its edit back.
  • Asking needs an API key, added in Settings › AI. Writing doesn’t.

A note’s conversation with Sayzen is kept with the note, not in History.

Where notes are kept

Notes are stored encrypted on your computer. When Sayzen reads or searches your notes to answer you, what it reads goes to your AI provider for that answer only. Sayzen asks before it edits a note, unless you asked from that note’s own box.

Coding agents

Claude Code, Codex and other apps that use MCP can search and read your notes while Sayzen is open. This is off until you turn on Settings › Agents › Let coding agents read your notes. They can’t change your notes.

  1. Turn on Let coding agents read your notes.
  2. Choose Add to Claude Code or Add to Codex. The agent sees your notes from its next session.
  3. For another app, add Sayzen as an MCP server that runs Sayzen.app/Contents/MacOS/Sayzen mcp on a Mac, or Sayzen.exe mcp on Windows.

Sayzen keeps only how many times each app read your notes and when, never what it read.
